My bike died on the freeway last July. At 90 kph the engine stopped as if I'd hit the kill switch. Ignition fuse was blown so I changed it 3 times at the side of the road and then trailered it home.
I removed the front cowl thinking there was a shorted wire - WOW!! I found 5 worn through wires! Fixed them and bike turned over but would NOT fire
. I changed the spark plug, serviced the valves and carb (carb slider is a bit worn and loose - bike has 50000km). There was a spark but still wouldn't start.
So my KTM buddy Gunnerbuck figured it may be the stator. I just opened the stator cover and found this...

I'll get a new stator, clean this up and report back.
