The stuff about the Houston Secret Warehouse sounds like folklore to me, even though it is interesting reading. At the least the writer has embellished some real history with nonsense. For instance the statement: 'barrel MUST be 21 3/4” long
for optimum accuracy' and the 'proof' provided by a couple of rifles is sheer folly. Accuracy in a barrel depends upon many details, including the load used, temperature response, harmonic behavior, bedding, etc. The one 'finding' that I agree with is seating bullets right at the lands and how to determine that experimentally.
