Also along the route just before entering Gorham, Ill. there is a bluff called Fountain Bluff. There is a raven in this bluff where there are petroglyphs. I attempted to hike up to them but in riding gear and 95 degree heat it was a bit too much. I would have needed shorts and some hiking shoes. I did climb quite a way up but never found them. Google Fountain Bluff Petroglyphs for more. This is where the hike begins and is marked with flags on the route. If you enter Gorham you went too far.
