Why did you use cement blocks versus other materials? I must of missed it.

We are using sustainable materials. With the Omni block the insulation is already factory in. With the wood framing we would still have to insulate, drywall the inside and then foam and wire mesh the outside for stucco.
Omni block is contain. Paint the inside wall and stucco right on top of the cinder /omni block. Cost difference was $7K. The block had a better R and fire rating.
I built the largest garage for my needs at the moment. New building codes are requiring a lot of steel for block and you have to meet new energy guide lines. Framing vs Block ..I think block has a cleaner look and I don't have to worry about termites.
Lots of research before I committed to the Omni block.
