This light has a button on the back to control the 3 power settings or modes. It can be wired to a bike, but in order to turn them on and rotate between high, low and strobe you would need to push the button on the back of the light.
I primarily use mine as a emergency or task / camp light and have ran them as aux lights when in the back country.
for a primary bike mounted light I would recommend another option like the NXG LED
