I've done lots of briggs powered stuff when I was young with my cousin, my favorites would have to include our raptor powered YZ60 that would top out around 50 or so, or the bicycle that would run right at 60...scary!

We never really fooled with jackshafts as we had nothing but a welder and grinder, and we were kids so we just offset the engines to line them up.

But I do have to say I've been toying with the idea a lot lately of stuffing one of those big horizontal shaft v-twins into bike and trying to get it street legal, you can buy clutches for stuff that has all the way up to 1" shafts and larger, I would think based on my experience sticking those dinky little 5hp engines into stuff that larger 18-20hp honda could push a bike to interstate speeds no problem.
