Meet Chief, the Alaskan Husky.
Chief and Max, the Belgian Shepherd, quietly discussing their wolf heritage.
Chief came from a rescue in northern New Hampshire for retired sled dogs. He and his mother were found abandoned and went to a kill shelter before making their way to Muddy Paw. There he got to run with dogs from winning Iditarod teams before coming to his new home in the city. Despite his unfortunate start, and the stigma that some [assholes] attach to a rescue, I could not imagine a more perfect dog and encourage anyone still mourning the loss of a best friend or unsure about a rescue to, at the very least, go walk a dog (or cat) in need.
