Alonso is in peril. He's surrounded by guys with questionable judgment. Maldonado is beside him and we can expect something stupid from the boy. Hamilton is behind him and old wing or not, will be craving to pass the man who leads the points standings.
A weird season stays weird after the break, to Alonso's advantage.
The men directly behind Alonso in the points are in a fix. Webber qualy'd well but takes a penalty for a gearbox change and Vettel couldn't even make the top ten. After the penalties, Vettel starts 10th and Webber 12th. And behind them in the points is Hamilton, whose troubles y'all have already discussed.
So Alonso has a pedestrian qualifying at Spa and isn't really hurt by it. Weird season indeed.
It has been said that man is a rational animal. All my life I have been searching for evidence which could support this.
