2720 USB Port Dead - Unseen by computer

So, my trusty 2720 will no longer connect to a computer via USB cable. I have tried multiple cables, wiggled them, and attached other things (camera) to prove that the USB ports & cables are working fine. I also tried a different computer.

I also installed the most recent Garmin USB drivers.

The tech at Garmin had nothing else to try when I called to ask.

I popped the case open and there was nothing obviously wrong visually with the USB port that I could see.

Any thoughts appreciated. I would really hate to buy another unit right now, but if I can't pull my tracks off the unit or load new routes from the computer, it isn't worth much to me.
