So, I started up the mountain after battling the casino traffic on the '76. While I wholeheartedly support the tribes' right to casinos, they shouldn't be allowed more than 500 feet off the interstate! They are killing what were good roads in the 80's. Here's pretty much what the scenery was all the way up:
I stopped for gas, coffee and a gut bomb at the gas station by the Pala Casino and saw some nice rock work on the side of the parking structure:
As you can probably tell by now, I really dig small details photos.
Got to the top after taking the South Grade Road. There was a lot of dirt washed across the roads, and I sucked up the seat on the first blind curve I ran into it on. I slowed down a bit for some wiggle room, and the rest or the ride was fun! Too gray out for good pictures (but I was having too much fun to stop for them anyways
