Darryl was pretty lucky. he went into the curve, and these BMW floorboards are rigid. the board scraped, picked up the rear wheel, & he & the bike went straight off the road. Had it not hung up on this tree about 20' down, it could have gone another 100' or so. The hillside was really loose shale/sand, it was hard to get it back up. He hurt his foot, and the bike had only a few scrapes & the handlebars are bent.
