Assuming 5.5 gal of fuel that puts the bike at about 565# with a full load. The air cooled GSA weighs 563 with a full tank and no cases. The 2012 GS weighs 504 with fuel, so unless there's some confusion in the press the bike has gained a substantial amount of weight. That 60# seems like a lot of weight for the extra 14 hp.
It's not 60 pounds...the BMW material show shows 238kg dry which is 524 lbs vs. Camhead at 496 I think, so 28 lbs more.
