Thanks a lot, you're right, the riding is pretty slim pickins' around here (NW Indiana / Chicago) even for asphalt riders. We usually head into Michigan for our rides as well. And we came up with a pretty good 1-day loop. The farther north you head, the better it gets, but that is definitely longer than a day trip.
Anyways, thanks for sharing (even if I don't ride off the road), it's nice to see this area featured a bit.
