After talking to some major repairers and insurance companies regards another popular ADV bike, It's not my favorite option BUT at least the sub frame separates so the hangers are legally able to be welded back on.
Unfortunately most insurance companies just specify new sub frame because that's the part that is broke.
None of this is a real issue for people that don't mind a bit of a weld and rattle can job assuming the bent part is salvageable which often it is.
