My only issue would be weight and that has more to do with my driveway/garage configuration. My R1200ST is 200 pounds lighter then a ST1100 with more power. It also wasn't $3k either. Personally I think you can't go wrong with any bike used in police service. The ST11/13 series proved itself under the most demanding conditions for a street bike.
