It makes me wonder if the organiser has laid CAP waypoints through the center of the ERG...? In which case it won't be a matter of skipping across the low dunes between the the crowns (there are a dozen or so quite large ones in the Erg Chebbi) but perhaps scaling some of these impressive saddles as part of the stage...?
I meant that they will enter the Erg West to East (opposite what they did today but at the same latitude - Merzouga) and then they will have to cross it South to North (and I agree that it probably will be over the big dunes in the middle by way of some WPM). Once outside the Erg (at its Northern tip) the track back to Erfoud looks the same they did today (again in the opposite way).
