for keeping your body snug and warm, there used to be available a special throw-over canvas covering your legs and your lower body. east-german winters were and are cold. o)

I have a "prototype" for these kind of legshields in my shed, been trying to build them last summer but somehow never got round to finishing them ( too many projects
). Shield itself will be diamonsplate I have lying around.
Those canvas coverings are still for sale ( can't find the link on my laptop, must be on my computer upstairs ) but I have asked a friend for a canvas roof off of a Suzuki Samurai to make one myself
