Glad she didn't get in a wreck over this and can appreciate all the concerns as to quality and competency with the build as well as with the shop's work. Obviously spoke/laced wheels can get loose and require some attention that a cast wheel does not need, but HD has had this type of wheel on bikes for ever so it's not like a certified HD mechanic should not be aware of proper maintenance and care procedures, etc. Are these the new tubeless rims or the "old" tube type? Shouldn't matter, just curious and the brakes getting soft after a few miles would indicate an ongoing loss of fluid or soft hose (ballooning) so there should be a very noticeable leak at a loose fitting or swelling/damage in a line, etc.
