Nah it isn't hard but I have to find one for a 30 year old bike first. The ball at the end of the cable in the lever pulled off so lubrication would not have helped in this case. I just start at the top and spray WD-40 down it while working the cable. There is a cable luber tool they sell. Not sure how it works though.
I will find a cable and order it when I have the cash. At least I have a back up bike now. (until I find someone that wants to buy it)
