Indian Summer Ride and Camp - 11/11/12
I put the new luggage setup on the bike. Minimal always works best.
It has a slick built in auto balance system. Time to hit the road.
Plenty of blue sky and mild temps to enjoy. I came across this cute farmer gal putting on a fresh coat of paint for the coming winter. Her painting coat was inspired by the works of Coco Chanel.
I rode on through forested land and found these two horses who were a bit wary of the bike and the bark of its muffler.
The small one, George Elmer, warmed up though and came over for some food and petting.
After some more woods riding, I found a flat spot adjacent to an apple orchard and set up camp. Sadly the firewood rack was empty, but there was plenty of downed wood at hand.
Sunset came too early and I turned to making a fire.
eheh, cough - cough! Puff, puff... Ah sitting around the ole smokey campfire.
A bit of lantern glow before turning in.
Sweet little sunrise the next morning... kind of weird though as that's where the sun went down last night....?
Having realized I'd forgotten to bring breakfast, I decided to improvise and live off the land.
I spied this cute fella spying on me... I think he wanted in on some of that toad action.
I packed up camp and made short order of getting on the trail.
I came up on this fella who clearly had his head up his boiler.
He was rather talkative once he got his head back in the fresh air and said by late spring next year most of this pile of wood will have been put through that little door.
He then proceeded to tell me how this small 10,000 lb rock had been buried for millennia under where all that wood not sits...
With miles to go, I hit the trail, twisting along through the woodland and even slipped in a little bit of new born air time.
High on riding and low on food my head swam in a glaze of passing miles.... btw, "Does this helmet make my chin look big?!"
I made haste and took the direct route home and tucked into this deliciousness.
