I agree pretty much with Jay's post. 2WD is not a necessity nor needed in most conditions. Most who have it seldom use it it seems.
Steep slower speed up hill runs on loose or rocky surfaces are where it shines.
We have considered building a 2wd setup for the 1200 GS powered outfits.
