The kill switch does away with a separate starter switch. Toggle it all the way up, it kills the engine, push it all the way down, you start the engine.
The START position is momentary, just like a starter button. The headlight switch on the other side is the same deal- High/Low/PASS, with PASS being a momentary (it doesn't stay when you let go of it.)
