I may be late to this party, but I just wanted to point out that the peak torque on the 2010+ RT's is around 6,000 RPM. So you will have the most fun throttling through the twisties from 5,000 RPM and up:

2010 BMW R1200RT HP (kW) and Torque (Nm)


I agree that having even more torque and HP would be even better, but make sure you are wringing out all you can from what's in there!
