Oxy-acetylene, that could get you started on a stove. And me too but then I'd take the parts in for a proper welding job, I could braze that but would be expensive on the brazing rods.
I went and stole the pics anyway to show someone else "in the know", he used to build stoves until the regulations/certifications made that too hard.
But from what I know, looks like this guy cuts the tank to accomodate the plate end even uses the part he removed to build the base. There should be a baffle under the stove pipe so the heat/flames don't all climb up the chimney. Will talk to my friend about that in the next few days.
