How can a bike built in March 1993 be a '94 R1100RS? The last new bike I bought was an old stock clearance bargain sold new two years after it was built but that doesn't make it two years younger! By that logic I can celebrate my 50th all over again this year FWIW I was a photojourno on the Aus launch of the R1100RS & it was launched as a stand alone model. The Germans spun the line that the GS series would stay as two valve carb equipped bikes 'cos the likely owners of on/off road bikes shunned power, weight & complexity in favour of a bike that can be fixed with fence wire in the outback. Funny in hindsight.
