So I've been comparing the Hyperstrada to the SMT990 'cause they fit the same roles. I can't imagine why anyone would want the SMT instead of the Hyper, on paper at least.
The Duc is/has:
>MUCH longer service intervals
>more fuel efficient (projected)
>larger dealer network in the US
>standard centerstand and bellypan
>single side swingarm (convenience; looks are subjective)
>more comprehensive electronics package
The KTM is/has:
>better suspension (from what I hear)
>larger fuel tank
Anything I am missing? The bike isn't even out yet, and we will get a better idea of what it's about when the reviews start coming in later this year, but so far it seems better in almost every way than the SMT. When I am in the market for a new bike, it's probably going to come down to these two, unless I had a adv bike epiphany.
