The KTM is/has:

The Hyperstrada is actually lighter. Ducati lists 399lb dry/450 lb wet and that is including center stand, which is a must for a bike that will see some miles, esp. one with a chain drive.
The KTM SMT is listed as 434 lb "weight without fuel". With 16l fuel (Hyper's tank size) the KTM will already be slightly over, add 8 to 10 lb for the accessory center stand.
Looks are subjective but except for the beak, to me the HS looks better than the SMT.
