Caused by my "tunnel-vision" focus on the BunBurner Gold 1500...
It seemed to me to be a near-impossible feat, and I convinced myself that I would have to stretch each tank in order to reduce my fuel stops by
ONE.
As the tank dropped into its last gallon, I passed up a gas station that was a mile away from the highway, planning to take the NEXT exit.
Unfortunately, there was no fuel available from that point to the Tennessee line.
