I'm not sure what exactly caused them to die because I was never told what they replaced when I sent them in for repair. I had them wired through quality (Hella and Piaa, respectively) harnesses to go on with the high beam on both my TDM900 and my Dakar. Despite being used infrequently (I live in an urban area), they would suddenly just die without warning. The leds are wired in seriesl, so if one stops working they all go out. My friend with an FJR had a similar problem, and managed to fix one light by harvesting an LED off a dead light that I gave him once my warranty suddenly vanished.
Others might have better luck with them, but based on my experience I've decided to stick with well known name brand led lights, which surprisingly turned out to be in the same ballpark price-wise and are backed by solid warranties. In addition to the aforementioned Piaas, Rigid Industry Duallys sell for $190 a pair with a wiring harness, http://www.amazon.com/Rigid-Industri...eywords=dually
