Maybe, maybe not. Until the battery is load tested neither you nor the OP can rule that out.
EFI bikes don't have a CDI.
If it is an EFI bike & the battery load tests OK then I would check each and every electrical connection related to ignition, including safety/interlock switches.
The bike is not posessed. There is a reason.
