Go for a Thai hooker and some good scissors. Cordless, too.

Actually, I've been using some Andis branded AC cutters for years. I bought them after being frustrated w/ DC Wahl crap. They're for regular hair cutting, not beards, specifically. Adjustable cutting head and different guards as well.
