I would opt for the '08 if I were being forced to buy another one. I had an '06 for 3 years and had nothing but problems with it. It was a blast to ride when it was working but I needed more reliability. If I recall the '08 also doesn't require a trip to the dealer to reset the TPS every 3000 miles like the 06 did.(or you could buy the software to do it yourself$$)
