I knew a lot of cops who carried the Taurus 85C (I think thats the letter/number designation..SW J frame copy) as a back up/second gun.
I've never heard of any issues.
Personally..I'd opt for a Smith and Wesson revolver. I've had one on my hip or in an ankle holster my entire police career.
