I had a new gen KLR.
The tank bags I tried both magnetic and strap on all scratched the shit out of the clear cote on the Red paint.
I wrote to one manufacturer in the states and the guy there said... Yep, hear it all the time with new gen KLR. Someting to do with the way they cure or perhaps don't cure the paint.
On my new S10 I went with a bag that mounts on a tank ring.
Doesn't touch the tank at all.
I did choose a mid sized bag though as I hate the things sticking into me when standing on the pegs!
