Used to think the same thing but sprot bikes do just fine. Technique, you got to have the technique.

This was part of my G/F's biggest ride to date. She's going like a legend, I did give her a bollicking for not backing off going up the hill when it got wet. Her second slide slowed her own. All skills learned in a car park....
