This has gotten me into trouble. In Latin America, they are more common-sense and 'spirit of the law' oriented, whereas here, it's all 'letter of the law'.
There, you have some latitude to operate safely as long as you don't get in an accident. Just don't get in an accident! Here, we're past the point of ridiculousness with the innumerable things you can't do, and when you get in an accident, it's no big deal, that's what insurance is for.
