Nice writeup! My minor contribution - notice the dot on the head of those screws - they're JIS not phillips. If you grind down the tip of a cheap #2 phillips (the ones Harbor Freight gives away are perfect for this) just a bit it will work much better than a phillips screwdriver, which won't seat properly in the screw head, and will "cam out" and strip out the screw head when you try to loosen it with maximum force. DAMHIK.



(Keep that modified screwdriver handy - you'll find lots of those JIS screws on Japanese bikes - especially on the carbs).
