add about 300 pounds of weight to it (kinda like handicapping a race horse)
put some slick tires on it

My DRZ is way used to having nearly 300 lbs on it, and for the record I used to race the Clydsdale class in MTB races
Try a 600lb bike AND a "chunky monkey". Louie Lake looks challenging however you need to add running water coming down the trail and nothing but loose gravel/boulders for traction.

Silverspurs, at Boulder Basin I got past the scree slope with no issues. It is the damn wet loose rock that took its toll.
