That happened to me last winter. We had it nasty here, not able to ride for weeks on end. I followed the advice on page 26 (engine does not start) in the owner's manual, and it didn't work. I used my left thumb to push the start button, and gave it a little throttle with right hand. It started, and kept the revs up, and it settled in. Haven't had problems since, riding just about every day now. I was running Stabil at the time also.
