About the roadbook setups people running, I prefer them lower and closers to the bars as most riders have them on the Tuareg. I guess on a big stable 690 you can have 'm further out and more at an angle (handy when sitting down on those long dakar stretches). These shorter stages, with more standup riding you might want them a little flatter. Dont need a fairing for high speed runs either imho. Keeping m low and flat is a little bit safer too when you go over the bars
