I know it doesn't look like it, but the SM actually provides better wind protection than you'd expect. No, not like a windshield, but it does blunt the worst of the blast up to about mid-torso. If you have the KTM/Touratech tank bag, its up to about the sternum level. Above that its just a clean quiet wind blast. The bike has a slight forward lean, so overall its good up to about 80-90mph before you have to start really leaning into it.
For cruising at 60mph, its really not a problem for an hour or so at a time.
... or maybe I'm too distracted by what a complete hoot this thing is to ride.
