Lubricates "just about anything" does not include the rubber 0-ring seals in the chain. The stuff attacks rubber and plastic. And yes...once it penetrates past the 0-rings it will disolve the grease sealed inside effectively ruining your chain.
It is a great cleaner. It will protect from rust and displace water. It WILL lubricate stuff, but for about 15 minutes before it is gone.
