Well,i run a IMS on my DR650,and have that problem once in a great while.So i just plant a foot,and pop the clutch do a good old MX turn and i get the gas to the petcock!!
Its very rare that i get that far with over 200 miles range,and to me it isn't that big of a deal to lean it over if i get caught short.
Trust me 200 or over on any DR is time to get off and strech anyway.
