Got a price from a dealer of $5,400 out-the-door. I'm no math genius, but as a CPA I can handle basic arithmetic. I pointed out to the salesman that based on my calculation what he was proposing was pretty much retail: $4,999 MSRP + $350 NJ sales tax = $5,349. He claimed he was $700 below retail, but that there was a "destination charge" of $495. He didn't offer to reconcile the $205 difference between the $700 "savings" and the $495 destination charge -- tags and registration, perhaps? (The conversation was by phone, and I was driving during a rainstorm, so I wasn't able to really dissect the quote.)

The real question is whether a "destination charge" is common for Kawasaki bikes, especially a charge that is roughly 10% of the MSRP?
