I'm not sure. The bike doesn't run any different really otherwise. The dealer removed it when I had my fuel tank replaced and had some issues with it starting after that when it was hot. Never had a problem since. I think that carbon builds up in cats over time anyway and they basically lose their effectiveness at some point. Maybe it will happen quicker? I'm probably going to swap the stock for some wings in the next month so I'm not too concerned.
