Hey Greg! Yes, that was me that met you and Mr Wizard in Escalante. The rest of the trip went fine. Supahflid (the guy I was traveling with) and I split up the next morning after meeting you. I rode Smokey Mountain Trail down to Big Water, AZ (I think you guys rode some of that route) Then made my way back across to New Mexico. Smokey Mountain was a fantastic route! Supahflid went down to Flagstaff then made a loop around the Grand Canyon.

I did a picture thread from the trip.

There is certainly no shortage of great riding in that part of the country.

I hope all is going well for you. Thanks for chiming in.

Hey David, I was just looking through the MS thread and thought I recognized your bike. I enjoyed your pictures on your thread. We did more riding than picture taking, maybe next time I will have more time to stop and photo!! Hope you and yours have a safe and prosperous New Year!!! :1drink

Yes, we do! Road over to Delta, LA a few weeks ago and down LA side to Natchez and back, we also cover the area between Natchez and Vicksburg quite often (Port Gibson, Rodney, and that area).

We often ride over in the Big Black hills north of Vicksburg and up towards Rolling Fork and into the Delta.

There are several members in the Vicksburg area.

Check out our thread over in the regional forums: Jackson MS area riders
We post most all rides, events, gatherings, etc with a whole lot of BS in between in that thread... :deal

I had planned to start today off with the MS ADV Breakfast Club, but was not feeling well after a bar hoppin' night right that I came in from at Midnight. Took until around 10AM before my stomach issues calmed down and I wanted to ride! Decided to head out and see if I could still get to the MS Tag without being BRUCED... Original plan was to eat breakfast at 7 and see if any of the crew wanted to follow me halfway up the MS Hill Country Trail, which would drop us off 10 miles from the tag site. Since I got a late start, I decided to slab it!

Gotta hide those ugly cell towers...

Well, my employer decided to give us almost ever State Holiday off, so starting this year, we are off work for MLK day / Robert E Lee's Birthday / Heritage Day / Whichever flavor you choose... So what's a fellow to do when he has a sunny day and doesn't have to work? GO FOR A RIDE!!!

So I posted up in our regional thread to see if anyone else was up for riding. babarnette chimed in that he wanted to go (first met him on our NYD ride) and soon stewardd said he wanted to meet up and ride. babarnette said he wanted to choot some pics down in SW MS, so I made a quick route to run that way. stewardd lives south east of there and we are northeast, so we picked a meeting place and geared up!

I ran over to babarnette's house and he was ready and waiting
    [IMG]

We were to meet stewardd at the OPGR / Halls Ferry crossroads store, so we left the REZ and took the Natchez Trace out of town.

Got to the meeting place and had beet stewardd there.

Soon stewardd joined us and we headed off on my route. First stop, Hunt Road Waterfall
    [IMG]

After the amount of rain we've had over the past week or so, I was curious to see how much water was going over the falls.

While we were hanging out on the bridge, we hear a bike coming. I thought someone might have seen our posts and come looking for us. But the bike didn't sound quite right... :D This guy appeared and rode down to the falls...

What's an ADV rider to do when in this area and lunch time hits?

    Go park by this tree:

Cause it's right across the street from the Old Country Store in Lorman, MS!! :D

After filling our belly's on Mr. D's Fried Chicken... We were off!

Next stop, a low water bridge to check on the water levels!

The current was really pushing under the low water bridge...

On we rode, weaving between curvy pavement and gravel and soon pulled up at the "Ghostown" of Rodney.
