Got some practice in today at my local area along the old Mullan Road in western Montana . Had a new friend come over who's an "Old Montana " trials rider just out of a 25 year "retirement " . Working out his new Sherco getting ready for his first event next weekend at Newport , Wa. Rich did great , even pioneered some new lines in my sections . :clap

Going riding tomorrow, and taking the Beta along so Pat can tell me what's wrong with the clutch....

    Hey Lads --
My daughter is working in Alamogordo, and her '95 Camry is getting some electrical gremlins, such that she ought to get sorted before she returns to Flagstaff in a couple weeks.

She's checking the CarTalk mechanic's list, and I offered to post up on Baldy's List.:freaky

    Who's good, down that way?

    Thanks!

A not so well used trail at Sipapu.
I am pretty beat but I may join some of the trials crew out at B-Town at 7:30 for a few hours.
    You should try and go!

Went for a ride today on my new to me old XR. Rode with an old school guy
who has well over 50 + years riding in the mountains of New Mexico.
He rode trials, told me he started as a novice and went through all the
classes. then finished as a novice.

    Gettin' ready to ride

I'm a little late in posting this in the "today" thread. Two weeks ago my left hand slipped off of the bar coming over a log in a section. The log was within my comfort zone and I'd done it successfully 3 times prior. I'm not sure what happened but when the dust settled I found myself with cracked ribs. I had 7 sections to go and was able to finish on adrenaline - doubling my score in the process. I'm told it can take 6 - 8 weeks for ribs to heal. I'm 2 weeks in and the next event is in 3 weeks. Fingers are crossed...

It was a classic/twinshock trial not far from my house... some nice bikes there today.

Very nice ans sanitary looking Bul's!

I've got the jetting sorted for my SWM, I had trouble finding out the right setup, after trying here and there I now use the standard setup with a little bit richer idle jet 65 instead of 60, (I live only 50m above sea level).

I believe the old jets are just a little bit clogged with old gas which decreased the diameter of the jets, with new jets in the same diameter the bike is now running very well instead of lean. Another new to me experience ...

I did an EnduroX today. It counts as trials, because Phil Smage was in my class. And I didn't come in last place.:rofl

I competed in my first ever trial today. I did pretty well more 0s, 1s, and 2s than 3s and 5s. I learned a bit too. It was a long loop and I'm slow so the second lap was my best. The 3rd really started to wear me out.

Wersideriser and I even check a section In the afternoon for the advance and expert classes. It was a pretty hard one all the experts 5ed the first time. Pretty fun to watch.

BYOB build your own Beta is easily the most dangerous site on the internet.

You can customize a bike, put a small deposit on it and it will be at your dealer in about 30 days. :huh

Awful tempting, and I had a 300 all dressed out to the tune of $10K+ but couldn't hit the submit button!

Maybe I'll be braver tonight. :lol3
