Southern Sweden <HR style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #575757; COLOR: #575757" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->This is just a quick note, too see if there is any interest from outside of Sweden for this nav rally/boot camp/fun event... a bit short notice, but due to a few drop outs and a bit less than the usual subscriptions this year, we are offering a few last minute places on this (usually invitation only) annual navigation bash; 8<SUP>th</SUP> annual Dirty Long Weekend navigational rally<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> <o></o> Southern Sweden (Skåne/Blekinge) the 28th/29th/30th September 2012. <o></o> DIRTY WEEKEND LONG ... a tradition since 2005, for diehard road book junkies to gather and do a heap of navigational riding together. The weekend includes everything from night navigation routes, longer 100 to 150 km navigation stages on combination of gravel and forest roads, with up to five or six enduro and motocross special tests thrown in, held over a three day (two night) camp out format. The forest bivouac at night includes accomodation in one of three 12 person tents (with wood stove), catering and gear transport, with lot's of laughter, food / beverage and socializing around the camp fire. A link to a thread from last years event; http://advrider.com/forums/showthrea...y+Long+Weekend <o></o> <o>DLW 2012 total mileage is between 700 and 750 km, all navigated by roadbook (except MX and enduro tests), so your registered/insured and licensed bike</o> <o>needs to be equipped with a roadbook and tripmeter, as well as lights that allow you to navigate the night stages (it will be pitch dark). </o> <o></o> The event is limited to 30 participants. At present we have 15 signed on (plus the four members of the organising team) so ideally we need a (minimum) of six more riders, and up to 15 places that are available. Riders will be teamed up in groups of three and participate in both team and individual challenges throughout the weekend. Cost for this whole spectacle is 180 EURO... Swedish.Moto-Safari.se provide for the transport of your gear over the weekend, all tent and bivouac logistics/catering and a Sweep rider/service vehicle service. In order to get things organised we need to know by no later than friday the 24th of august WHO/HOW MANY are coming to ride, and get all in place (as far as payments etc.) before the end of August. anyone else...? I have had a couple of enquiries from prospective O/S participants, wondering if there is the chance to rent a bike/fly in. Answer is YES... that can be arranged if you would like... BUT things need to happen very quickly in order to make it happen, if that's an option you would like to persue. (The event is exactly six weeks from now). Cost for this would be around EURO 1,380 (all up - bike rental & entry fee), plus a 900 EURO deposit/insurance excess in case of a major wipe out of the motorcycle. (bikes available are 2011/2012 Husaberg FE 450's). We could probably arrange pick up (fly in/out) either at Copenhagen (denmark - closest international airport to where event is to be held) or in Stockholm (depending on arrival departure plans) and over and above your sleeping bag, riding gear, passport and licence, you would need to arrange an electronic visitors visa (can be done on line) and some pocket money for fuel, lunch and some beers/souvenirs etc. Cheers, get in touch if thgis sound interesting.
