Creekr makes a good point about inner reflection when riding alone. I've done most of my long disance rides alone and I could always think with extreme clarity. Something you cannot do sitting in a cubicle. Not to get heavy, but there is no doubt that long distance motorcycle travel is a metaphor for life's journey. Its real & raw living. It also parallels the ups & downs of life. Some good days on the road, a few crappy ones, and the occasional lonely day. One thing is for sure, you'll come back a wiser guy. Now pass the rum punch!

The camera is a waterproof Nikon
I wanted the Canon but it was 3 times as much
I figured if it takes a dump or gets lost or stolen, I can just buy another and still be better off
In the end, I wish I would have bought the Canon

Eduardo! Ole! - Following your adventures with much envy! You're looking great! Bike looks good too. Now that you're almost through the muck of Central America - I thought maybe I'd fly down to SA. Let's coordinate! Drop me a PM when you get a chance!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY and thank you

    Ed,

Your excellent ride report and pictures leave all of us wanting more and more. You have done what we all wish to do but are not courageous enough to do!

I have been a traveling salesman for most of my adult life and know the loneliness you face from time to time. In my busiest time I spent around 250 nights per year on the road. Fortunately I have a VERY understanding wife who kept everything together at home. You will, in future years, learn that these travel times allowed you to "know" yourself so much better than the average person. And you will be glad you took the time for this journey.

    Safe travels!
    Keith
