Spent Father's Day at the St. Thomas, Ontario air show!
Great shots! While I do love our own American flight demo teams, the Snowbirds are my favorite. The things that they can do with trainers in large formations is truly amazing.
Thats a nice Beaver for sure. There are not too many privately owned ones, for good rea$on This privately owned Beaver on amphib floats I took pics of last month is owned by a pretty old pilot. I heard he flipped it a couple of weeks ago when he did a water landing with the wheels down. This was his second time flipping it for the same reason. Maybe its time to hang up his licence.

Rivets are hard! Here's a couple of patches I've done. So far we've done a lap joint, these two patches, a joggle/flush joint, right now I'm working on a "box" and next will be a frame/bulkhead patch for a cessna empennage.
Go here on your next ride around Lake Superior, plan at least half a day. The first photo is of a crash that was recovered from a remote area of northern Ontario: http://www.bushplane.com/ <a href="http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j95/barronist/?action=view¤t=wreck1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://www.advrider.com/advrider-photobucket-images/images/b/barronist_wreck1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j95/barronist/?action=view¤t=anotherplane.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j95/barronist/anotherplane.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j95/barronist/?action=view¤t=plane1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j95/barronist/plane1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

When I was a kid I reported to that hanger to begin a summer job with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resouces. It was an operational seaplane base at the time ('79).
When I was a young archaeology student we requisitioned a turbo Beaver to fly us over our survey area north of Elliot Lake and I believe the plane came from this base. Our pilot was an old guy with a pencil thin mustache and wore a white, silk scarf. He told us he flew for the RAF in WWII. If you haven't spent time in the bush it would be hard to imagine how important float planes were.
I'm starting to get the hang of it now. I can drive decent rivets pretty consistently and I'm pretty good at measuring and lay out, but for some reason I have a hard time keeping things straight when I drill my holes.
